Wicklow PPN Submission on the Proposed Amendments to the Scheme of Letting Priorities

Wicklow PPN has made a submission to Wicklow County Council’s consultation on the proposed amendments to the Scheme of Letting Priorities (Allocation Scheme for Social Housing).
The submission calls for the introduction of a dedicated housing priority category for individuals and families experiencing domestic violence, coercive control, stalking, harassment, sexual violence, emotional abuse and financial abuse. It highlights the importance of safe, secure and affordable housing as a key part of protecting victims and supporting their recovery and long-term stability.
The proposal also recommends enhanced priority for social housing allocations, appropriate confidentiality measures and recognition of the housing needs of those fleeing abuse.
