62 responses were received to our call to ‘Let your Voice Be Heard on Bus Shelters in County Wicklow’.

All suggestions have been submitted to the Chair of the Wicklow County Council Transportation Infrastructure Delivery and Emergency Services Strategic Policy Committee (SPC), by our PPN Representative, ahead of the next meeting of this committee.

Wicklow County Council has received an allocation of €500,000 under the Bus Stop Enhancement Programme. Bus shelter locations are determined by the Active Travel Team and the District Engineers. At a previous meeting of the Committee, members were advised that the estimated cost of a bus shelter shell is approximately €10,000, with a further €15,000 required to upgrade the surrounding bus stop infrastructure. As a result, it will not be possible to progress all suggested locations.
