Applications are now open for the Built Heritage Grant Schemes 2027, administered by Wicklow County Council on behalf of the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.

The funding schemes support the conservation, repair and protection of historic buildings and structures across County Wicklow and include:

• Built Heritage Investment Scheme (BHIS) – supporting small-scale, labour-intensive conservation and repair works to protected structures, buildings within Architectural Conservation Areas, vernacular buildings, including thatched properties, and historic shopfronts.
• Historic Structures Fund (HSF) – supporting larger-scale conservation projects that safeguard historic structures, extend their lifespan and deliver public or community benefit.
• Historic Thatched Buildings (HTB) Stream – providing dedicated funding for the conservation and protection of traditional thatched buildings.
