This grant provides funding to local groups to plant trees on public spaces in their community.  The grant aims to increase tree cover in our towns and communities.

The late Autumn/Winter months are the ideal time to plant trees, allowing trees to establish good roots well before they come back into leaf in Spring.

This year the maximum grant payable has been increased to up to 95% of the cost and is payable when the work is completed. Maximum grant available is €500. Reckonable expenditure would include the cost of the trees, ties and stakes but does not include the cost of labour for the planting. Please also note that receipts will be required as a condition of payment.

The grant is for the planting of trees. It is not for shrubs or flowers. 

Only trees listed as native or beneficial for pollinators and biodiversity by Wicklow County Council below will be considered for grant aid.
