The Government has announced the 2026 Community Sport Facilities Fund (CSFF), formerly known as the Sports Capital Grant. The scheme is the Government’s main funding programme for helping sports clubs and communities across Ireland develop and improve sporting infrastructure.

The new SPRAOI grant management system opened for registration on 28th September 2026, with funding applications opening on 19th October 2026.

The 2026 scheme includes grants of up to €250,000 for local projects, Tier 2 grants of €250,000–€550,000, and a new Tier 3 providing grants of up to €750,000 for larger multi-sport facilities.

The scheme will also place a strong focus on multi-sport collaboration, partnerships between sports clubs and schools, equal access for men and women, and the “sport for all” ethos.

Clubs and organisations that are not already registered should register on SPRAOI as the first step towards applying. Existing OSCAR registrations will be transferred automatically, but organisations should check that their details are correct.
